Something a little different. A wine themed upcycle!
•October 1, 2016 • Leave a CommentI’m not usually in the habit of picking things up off the side of the road, but I couldn’t resist these two pieces. Found them separately, a few weeks apart.
First the wine rack. In good condition but the metal finish was ugly.
Sprayed it with black engine enamel (because it’s what I had on hand). Really happy with the result!
I assume the table used to have a glass insert. Someone replaced it with plywood and screwed the plywood to the underside of the hardwood table! I needed to figure out what to put over the plywood.
Wine labels will cover it nicely!
Applying the wine labels then the clear coat. It took about 10 layers of clear lacquer. I plan on adding an 18X18 piece of glass in the insert over the labels as well.
All done!! Refinished Wine Rack and Wine Label Table.
